Changelog
What's new in Foldvia, newest first. Every Early Access build gets an entry here — the in-app updater links straight back to this page.
V0.72612026-07-26
- Full screen, properly. Press F11 and the window frame, the sidebar and the module header all get out of the way — the file list fills the entire display. Press F11 again to bring everything back. A small control stays in the top-left corner while you're there, so you can call the sidebar back without leaving full screen.
- The sidebar can hide completely now. Ctrl+B (or the button beside the module name) puts it away entirely instead of shrinking it to a strip of icons. The icon strip still appears on its own when the window gets narrow, so a half-screen window keeps its navigation.
- The title bar matches your theme. On Windows 11 the window's title bar now takes Foldvia's own colour instead of the Windows default — a dark theme no longer ends at a pale band across the top.
- A calmer, taller workspace. The area above the file list is one continuous colour instead of three stacked shades, and the panes reclaim about 20 pixels of height that had been reserved for nothing.
V0.71732026-07-19
- Tidier updates: Foldvia now clears out old update installers left in your temp folder automatically, so updating never quietly piles up leftover files on your disk.
V0.71722026-07-19
- Faster startup: Background maintenance (folder-colour backfill, cache cleanup, archive expiry) now starts staggered after launch instead of all at once, and the preview-cache sweep no longer blocks the app from opening.
- Responsive workspace scan: Workspace auto-rescan waits ~90 seconds after launch so the app feels responsive first.
- Frequent update checks: The app now re-checks for updates every 6 hours while running — no more restarting just to see a new version.
V0.71712026-07-17
- Removed the sidebar upgrade button until checkout is ready. There's no purchase flow live yet, so a Free-tier "Upgrade" button that couldn't complete a purchase was misleading — it's gone from the sidebar for now (the Free/Plus badge itself stays). Feature-card unlock prompts throughout the app still explain what Plus unlocks.
- Old downloads point to the changelog now. The release vault below only offers a direct download for the current version; earlier builds show their version and date with a link back here instead of a live installer link.
V0.7172026-07-17
- Large-folder estimates are honest now. The "100,000+" heads-up only shows once a folder actually hits that cap. If a scan times out instead, you'll see a plain-language note rather than a number we can't back up.
- Drag-and-drop parity. Dragging a folder in to set it as a workspace now gets the same large-folder check that "+ New workspace" already had.
- New (Plus): exact-duplicate finder. Find files that are byte-for-byte identical across every workspace, with the size, path, and last-modified time for each copy shown side by side. Confirm once to move extras to the Recycle Bin (within a single workspace, for now). Free accounts can see what it does and how to unlock it.
V0.7162026-07-16
- In-app updates are live. Foldvia checks for updates when the app starts and shows a quiet update card when a new version is ready. Nothing downloads or installs until you confirm — then restart whenever you're ready to finish the update.
- Workspace health: large-folder heads-up. Adding a very large folder now shows an estimate first — file count and projected index size — so you can understand the cost before indexing begins.
- Smarter cloud downloads. Repeated requests for the same cloud file no longer trigger duplicate downloads or waste bandwidth.
- Website and version housekeeping.
V0.7152026-07-15
- Early Access launch. Foldvia's first public build:
- Full file workspace — browse, tag, and organize your files with a fast, native-feeling grid.
- Deep Clean — find and safely remove junk, duplicates, and reclaimable space.
- Multi-cloud — connect Google Drive and OneDrive (read-only) alongside your local files.
- File rescue & restore — recover and undo cleanup actions with a reversible Archive.
- MCP AI-authorized access — grant a connected AI tool scoped, revocable read access to specific files.
- Ships as an NSIS installer (recommended, supports one-click in-app updates) or a portable .zip.
